Among the services that will be
offered:
Full
Service Emergency Department
The Kaiser Permanente Modesto
Medical Center will feature a 24-bay emergency room offering members
first rate emergency care. In addition, a 24-hour clinic for
treating minor injuries will be located in the adjacent hospital support
wing. A helistop will facilitate the transport of emergency
patients.
Interventional Radiology
Featuring the latest digital
imaging equipment, the radiology department will be at the forefront of
early detection of cancer and other health concerns. This advanced
technology means scans can be processed and returned much quicker than
traditional methods, allowing doctors to provide faster care.
Labor
and Delivery
Expectant mothers will enjoy
Kaiser's 12-bed labor and delivery department - all in private rooms -
for when that special delivery arrives. The neonatal and
post-partum facilities - including a neonatal intensive care unit - will
help ensure that you and your newly arrived family member receive extra
special care and service.
Electronic Medical
Records
The Medical Center will be wired
for Kaiser's electronic information management technology, which has been
lauded as a national model by the US Department of Health & Human
Services. Patients and Doctors have up to the minute access to
medical records from any Kaiser Permanente location.
Emphasis
on Healing
The entire facility will be
focused around the healing process, including a four story atrium
healing garden, where patients and visitors can retreat for solitude.
A soothing color scheme will promote relaxation, and secluded niches
throughout the facility will provide places for quiet reflection.
Environmentally
Responsible
Upon its completion, the Modesto
Medical Center will be one of the "greenest" medical facilities in the
nation. From environmentally friendly construction materials and
techniques to operational guidelines that promote the recycling and
reduction of waste, the facility will reflect Kaiser Permanente's
dedication to healthy communities - right down to the building's very
own foundation.
